SWANSEA BOTTLES

Introduction

Browne & Beetham, 53 Wind Street, Swansea

An article in "The Cambrian" on December 4th 1830 states;

BROWNE AND BEETHAM TAKE OVER CHEMISTS & DRUGGISTS BUSINESS LATELY CARRIED ON BY ROBERT BROWN, 53 WIND STREET, SWANSEA.

Mr Browne retired and left the Patnership in 1832, the business was taken over by T. Sheperd in 1834.

In the 1830s chemists were the first to start producing soda waters, bottling them for medicinal purposes.

I have only seen one bottle from this company, an early hamilton.
